Hi everyone,

I am curious regarding the performance gain that you would get when you are matching the Configured Guest Operating System in the VM Options/General options with what VMware tools says that you're running.

We had many servers running Windows 2008R2/2012R2 that we upgraded to 2019 and we never updated the configured VM to match the new OS.

All the VMs are running fine but I was wondering if there is any gains, either on the Hosts or/and on the guest itself in term of performance?

Any thoughts on that?

Currently running ESXi 7.03i and Vcenter 7

Thanks in advance for your input.
