I had exactly the same problem as yourself on a remote EVA.

I checked the settings outlined in the response. Mine, like yours, were also correct.

After viewing the logs I noticed it seemed to be an inability to contact the host so I changed the target the localhost and it worked thereafter.

Note 127.0.0.1 did not work bu localhost did.

Unable to connect locally using SSSU, Version: 6.0.2
Build: 5. After providing

Manager:
Username:
Password:

error is returned:

Error opening https connection

Multiple users have been tried all are part of the HP Storage Admins and HP Stoarge Users groups.

There does not appear to be any logging to determine at what point this fails.

SSSU on this system can make remote connections to other Managment Stations without issue.

Managment Systems are windows based.

P.S. This thread has been moved from Storage Area Networks (SAN) (Enterprise) to HP Storage System Scripting Utility (SSSU). -HP Forum Moderator

Are you able run the command view eva gui? If so, is the array managed by the manager you're trying to connect to with SSSU?

If the CV EVA gui looks fine, try restarting the CV EVA windows services if possible.

-denver

Connecting via CV is not a problem. The services have been restarted, the Mgt. Station has been rebooted.

Connecting to the local EVA with Command View is no problem. SSSU fails.

This EVA is the only one locally managed by this Mgt. Station.

Remote Mgt. Stations attempting to connect to this Mgt. Station via SSSU encounter the same error.

This Mgt. Station can connect to Mgt. Stations and see their EVA's via SSSU without a problem.
Are the user accounts that login with sssu local to the machine? If so, have you verified that they aren't locked out or disabled?

I run into this a few times, but can't remember what it was. I'll see if I can dig up my notes if this doesn't help.

-denver

The Users are local to the machine and there are no password issues. We have also tried domain level accounts. We even created new (local) ones added them to the HP Storage Admins/User group with the same results. Generally we use the local admin account, it does not work either.

ok, I found my notes from when I had this problem before... my issue had to do with the windows security policy.

Check the local security policy on the windows server. If the user or group aren't part of the "Access this computer from the network" policy, the SSSU login from a remote system will fail.

From the Windows server, start -> run -> %SystemRoot%\system32\secpol.msc /s

From local security settings, Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment -> open up "Access this computer from the network"

If your user or the HP Storage Admins / Users group isn't part of this policy, add them and test out SSSU again.

Hope this helps,
-denver

Both HP Storage Admins / Users group are assigned the

"Access this computer from the network"
right.

I had HP rep online looking at HW issue on the EVA as well as this one (SSSU) on the Mgt. Station and they are stumped by the SSSU one so far.

I did try localhost, 127.0.0.1, FQDN,IP and they all return the same. Strange that Command View works just fine and other identically built Mgt. Stations of the same subnet have no issues and that this Mgt. Station can connect via SSSU to others without issue. I was thinking of something local blocking the port but I just do not see that in netstat and 443 is listed in the services file as used for https.
