I've not used the above command and we'd received an error about a script that uses it. I typed the following to see what it was doing and was amazed to see a smiley face.

strings sssu_sunos |more

I've attached a picture as cut and paste dones't work into here.

This looks dodgy to me, looks like something a hacker would do, or at least unprofessional, any ideas?

P.S. This thread has been moved from Storage > General to HP Storage System Scripting Utility (SSSU). - Hp Forum Moderator

What is the path of the file that contains that "picture"? What product contains that file? StorageWorks Command View EVA?

Have you compared that file's checksum with what it should be?

the sssu_sunos command just live in a local directory on the server, not in /opt or anything like that.

According to the pdf below it's called Storage System Scripting Utility. Unfortunately i've not got a file i can check the checksum against.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00605845.pdf

Well I was able to find the picture. I downloaded HP StorageWorks Command View SSSU v9.1 software (T5494-10016.iso), mounted the ISO and found /iso/SSSU/sun_os/sssu_sunos. Using "strings -a" and searching for "oooo" found the picture.

Please report this to the Response Center. You can mention my name.
