I am trying to run SSSU commands on HP EVA 4K Storage Array. But after connecting to management host using SSSU, I am able to list down the storage systems and select the storage system for performing further operations. But after running command, I encounter error.

NoSystemSelected> ls cell
Systems available on this Manager:
 HPEVA4K

NoSystemSelected> select cell HPEVA4K
HPEVA4K> ls vdisk
Retrying command
.......................
Error: Error view list is not set. The storage cell is not initialized.

Can some one tell me what is the issue here? Why this behaviour is seen?

The System initialized or uninitialized how to identify? LS CELL do not show any messages saying the cell/system is uninitialized.

Maybe the commands differ between SSSU versions.

In a manual it says "SELECT SYSTEM" - does that work?

You can find status of it by looking in the OCP or in CV.

LS CELL and LS SYSTEM both are same I suspect. From SSSU,

bash-4.0# ./sssu_hpux_ia64

SSSU for HP StorageWorks Command View EVA
Version: 8.0.0
Build: 010208A

NoSystemSelected> ls system

Systems available on this Manager:
 HPEVA4K
NoSystemSelected> ls cell

Systems available on this Manager:
 HPEVA4K
NoSystemSelected>

Right, well that's not very helpful.

Exactly the same error message or what happened?

Is the status of the EVA if you look in CV?

Now the controller has been reinitialized the issue do no longer persists.
I am able to select a storage system using select cell as well as select system too. I see no difference between cell and system.
I waould like to know why the error occurs and what makes system enter into uninitialized state.
