i have SSSU installed on Solairs 8/sparc
and today i noticed one disk fail in our EVA storage. when i try to do:
show disk full i only get list of disks
until faulty disk should show and then error.
if i do show disk ""
i get:
VL_EVA_1> show disk "\Disk Groups\Solaris\Disk 027"

Error: Invalid Target Handle

any idea. i try to use SSSU for geting status about our EVA but this is major show stoper
if i cannot get proper response for bad disk.

thx

Zdravko,

That will be SSSU's normal response - since the disk is bad.. CommandView/SSU will not be able to get a status.

What does CommandView on the SMA tell you?

Command_View say that disk is failed.

what is proper way to test if disk is
failed from SSSU? or there is some other method
how to check status of EVA components from UNIX
script ?
Hi,

If command view EVA shows disk failed, that must be correct. Both command view EVA and SSSU will give similar result. Most probably u will need replacement of the disk which is showing failed status.

Regards,
Syam

i know that :)

i ask how to reliably check that disk is
failed from UNIX script (idea is to send status to our system monitoring software).
i try to use SSSU but as noted in first post
SSSU give error instead nice information.
