    <description>I guess you are mistaken  "total" for "available". This is not really the total virtual memory available on the server. It is the total virtual memory (stack+data) of all the processes on the system. As you keep on bringing up the processes, you will see it growing. The total virtual memory available on the server is given in the total line of swapinfo -t.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Sri</description>

      <description>I have a server with 8 GM of Memory and 16GB for swap.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Swapifo  obtain :&lt;BR /&gt;TYPE   AVAIL   USED   FREE&lt;BR /&gt;dev    8388608  0    8388608&lt;BR /&gt;dev    8388608  0    8388608&lt;BR /&gt;reserve    -2613548 -2613548&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And when I use glance in section memory, I only saw:&lt;BR /&gt;Total VM :  2.65gb&lt;BR /&gt;Why??</description>

      <description>Check with swapinfo -tam for more detailed information on swap memory  and use vmstat -n for VM info.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and  output of these commands would be more helpful&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-USA..</description>

      <description>Hi, Carlos!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You're simply comparing two completely different things. Look at Glance's online help to see the meaning of Total VM (GBL_MEM_VIRT)... it has nothing to do with your configured swap. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Best regards...&lt;BR /&gt; Dietmar.</description>
