topic 745 on console server in Operating System - HP-UX

This has probably been asked numerous times, but I can't seem to find how to make the serial port the default console, especially when not using an HP device. My Suns default to ttya when there's no keyboard attached, but I must be missing something on the HP.

I'll be rack-mounting an old 9K/745 and will need to lose the graphics head. I'll be attaching the box to an Annex terminal server. Trying it on a 715 with just a Wyse dumb terminal, I can set up the tty port to get a console login prompt when the system is already up, but it won't even boot without the keyboard AND monitor connected.

Please...what's the trick?

TIA
