topic Installing HP UX10.2 in Operating System - HP-UX

Hi,

I want to make a fresh installation of UX 10.2 on my HP 9000 K200 server. I am wanting to configure it as a printer server. I have the install disks and an unlimited user licence. I also have about 100 patch disks and I dont want to install them all. Is UX 10.2 available to download as a complete system without patches? or will HP supply me with the discs? Any advice would be of great help.

Thanks

John Orme

John,

Why would you install 10.20?

It will no longer be supported by HP after June of this year. Go for 11.0 or, better yet, 11i. You'll be able to download current patch bundles and have a supportable, up-to-date system.

Pete

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response, I hadnt realised that version 11 existed. I cannot find where to download it though. Will I have to pay for it as our departments IT budget is very tight. Are there any good books to buy on HPUX?

Thanks

John,

If you're stuck on 10.20 for budgetary reasons, you should get your patches up to date while you can still download them.
