Hi,

We are trying to add a Zebra label printer that has a JetDirect network card in it.
However when we perform the the following command this error occurs. I can ping it, telnet to it and even hpnpadmin to it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

# addqueue -h 120.0.15.30 -q spik
Could not contact 120.0.15.30

Thanks in advance.
Randy

We use addqueue all the time for our bar code printers. we use the printer name instead of the IP. Try this syntax:
/opt/hpnp/bin/addqueue -q printer_name -h printer_name -i 15

There is no place where I see "printer name". In the printer status, there is printer followed by this:
Zebra QL 320 V79.50 09/02/04 FFFF XXVQ05-37-5029
I'm not sure if that is the printer name.

I think the printer name is XXVQ05-37-5029.
I tried configuring the printer as follows:
I added the printer's ip address to the /etc/hosts file. I was able to ping the printer. I went into SAM and tried to configure the printer as a remote printer.
For the printer name, I entered the name that is in the /etc/hosts file. For the remote system name, I entered the same name.
For remote printer name, I entered the printer name XXVQ05-37-5029. I checked the remote printer name is on BSD system.
That did not work.
What port should the printer be pointing to?
515?
