CIFS/9000 problem!

I have had my CIFS9000/Server-Client installed!
I can not see this directory:
/usr/local/samba
Why?
And, btw, how to convert /etc/passwd to /usr/local/samba/private/smbpasswd ?

I just started playing with this last week but take a look in /opt/samba.

Hi,

To make your smbpasswd, there should be a script somewhere named mksmbpasswd.sh. It should take your /etc/passwd as standard input and write out a new smbpasswd as standard output. Use this script to make a smbpasswd file, and then use the smbpasswd command to enable '-e' each user as needed and to set the password for each user.

Hi,

/usr/local/samba is where the open source version of Samba would reside. CIFS/9000 is HP's implementation of Samba and can be found under /opt/samba instead.

The docs.hp.com reference given earlier also contains a section called "CIFS/9000 Server File and Directory Information" which lists the files and dirs used by CIFS and what they're used for. This should help you tie it in with your Samba files and dirs.
