If mail does not send, probably due to the mail server being down, running, the 'mailq' command will tell you which ones.

The files themselves will sit in the /var/spool/mqueue directory for a default of 5 days if they don't get sent.

hi
check the mail logs in /var/adm/syslog directly. normally the file is called dead.letter, if there is an error sending it.

check if the data is already in queue. if not, there is a chance the mail has been bounced back to the user who has sent the mail.

hth
-b-

One place will be the $HOME/dead.letter for any delivery errors.

Also the mail bounced back will be stored in the user's mail box.
/var/mail/<USERNAME></USERNAME>
