Stefan and Balaji,
Sorry for being inconsice with my question. I was referring to the version of the OS image, e.g, OS image 4.4.

swlist does not provide such information, I'm afraid.

Are there ways which I can check for the image?

Thanks
The version of HP-UX you're running? Try "uname -a".

Pete

Im still not sure what you mean by an OS image. Has someone used ignite to make an image backup of your OS ?

Version info is usually;

uname -a
shows the HP-UX version info, eg. B.11.00

swlist -l bundle
shows the OS install software and its version number, eg;

HPUXEng64RT           B.11.00.01     English HP-UX 64-bit Runtime Environment

This shows v 11.00.01 of the 64 bit runtime install of HP-UX version 11.00.01
When you have installed a machine, ignite keeps a record of what happened during the install. (So you can reinstall with the same settings as before.) If you go into ignite, the system should be there and you can look at the client status, which will tell you what configuration you used to install. If you have moved the client to the history, go to /var/opt/ignite/clients and go into the directory for the client you have a question about. The first line of the file called 'config' tells you which configuration you used to install your system.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

John
