      <description>Follow this process&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hit any key when the following message appears: &lt;BR /&gt;Booting from primary path, press any key to override &lt;BR /&gt;At the menu, type:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;boot pri isl&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And answer "y" to &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Interact with ISL ?&lt;BR /&gt;Answer "y" to &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;boot from primary path ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And Answer "y" to:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Interact with IPL ?At the ISL prompt type: &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hpux (;0)/ALTKERNEL&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;where ALTKERNEL is the kernel name that you want to boot. The standard backup kernel name is /stand/vmunix.prev&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Once is system is back on single user&lt;BR /&gt; type "mountall" command to mount the file systems&lt;BR /&gt;-USA..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>At the 10 second prompt.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;interupt&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sea &lt;ENTER&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;See if there are any boot devices.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If so,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;bo&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Y(es) interact with the ipl&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hpux /stand/vmunix.prev&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This boots off the previous kernel, won't help if the boot disk is dead.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;or &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hpux -is for single user mode.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;or&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hpux -lm for lvm mode&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Boot a recovery shell off the CORE-OS cd if none of this works.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then you can poke around and see what went wrong.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Never hurts to stick your nose in the box and look at the cabling and such.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/ENTER&gt;</description>

      <description>If you can't boot off either the /stand/vmunix or /stand/vmunix.prev kernels you should be able to boot a recovery shell off your CoreOS CD. Once you have done this, you can at least what is going on.</description>
