Also on the HP box, check this file, /etc/rc.config.d/xfs

The variable

RUN_X_FONT_SERVER=1

Must be like this. No font server, no X login.

------

On my K460 I have RUN_X_FONT_SERVER=0 and I am able to connect using WRQ Reflection X from our office to a remote location. Is setting the value to '1' necessary?

after a quick look at http://www.omniplex.ltd.uk I see Omnix has a XConfig Utility which "provides keyboard input settings, manual mode and auto mode connection setup, font utility, and window startup mode setting."

My advise is to use it to configure Omnix 6 to source it's fonts from your hp-ux system ie add the address of an hpux fontserver to the head of the font path field. As it sounds as if this maybe your problem : also check in /var/dt/Xerrors, $HOME/.dt/startlog and Omnix's log files in case this is something else.

On hpux you'll need to setup xfs (1) see my post here -> http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x66f235067c18d6118ff40090279cd0f9,00.html
Most likely your DISPLAY variable is not set correclty.

On the hp-ux box, in the .profile for the user you plan to log on as, you need this code.

DISPLAY=IP_OF_PC:0.0
export DISPLAY

Example, the PC's IP addy is 192.168.0.10
DISPLAY=192.168.0.10:0.0
export DISPLAY

The IP address must be the PC you are logging in from.

Also on the HP box, check this file, /etc/rc.config.d/xfs

The variable

RUN_X_FONT_SERVER=1

Must be like this. No font server, no X login.

SEP
