The FCMS Driver is&lt;BR /&gt; trying to come up in a Loop topology&lt;BR /&gt; and the Host system is trying to come up&lt;BR /&gt; in a point-to-point topology.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HTH&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Steve</description>

      <description>On a system, the fibre card did not seem to fully initiliase earlier after a reboot at the weekend.&lt;BR /&gt;# fcmsutil /dev/fcms2 | more&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;                   Local N_Port_ID is = 0x000000&lt;BR /&gt;          N_Port Node World Wide Name = 0x10000060B0C0D4FF&lt;BR /&gt;          N_Port Port World Wide Name = 0x10000060B0C0D4FF&lt;BR /&gt;                             Topology = UNKNOWN&lt;BR /&gt;                                Speed = 1062500000 (bps)&lt;BR /&gt;                          HPA of card = 0xFFB08000&lt;BR /&gt;                          EIM of card = 0xFFFA200C&lt;BR /&gt;                         Driver state = LOOPBACK_STATE&lt;BR /&gt;               Number of EDB's in use = 0&lt;BR /&gt;               Number of OIB's in use = 0&lt;BR /&gt;  Number of Active Outbound Exchanges = 0&lt;BR /&gt;      Number of Active Login Sessions = 0&lt;BR /&gt;Once the card has been disabled and re enabled the device started to work and all the disks on the device were see OK, Ioscan for the card shows....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;lan         2  10/8.5              fcT1_cntl   CLAIMED     INTERFACE    HP Fibre&lt;BR /&gt; Channel Mass Storage Cntl&lt;BR /&gt;                                  /dev/fcms2&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is there any further settings to check on the card / patching which I may do / or anyone knows of ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;On the other end of the fibre is a Hitachi SAN.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Your HBA, or fibre channel adapter, (* same thing *) only auto sense information from either the switch or the peripheral device.  So right now with your 'Topology = UNKNOWN', nothing is going on.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Current software is&lt;BR /&gt;J3630BA                               B.10.20.61     Fibre Channel Mass Storag&lt;BR /&gt;e Driver&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PHSS_23581            B.10.00.00.AA  Fibre Channel Mass Storage Driver Patch&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I believe this is the most upto date for what we have....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Since your driver state is ready and your topology is now displayed and your 'Local N_Port_ID' as well, you???re good to go.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Note your 'Local N_port_ID' = 1 and try this:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;fcmsutil /dev/td1 echo -l 1 200 5&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(* Send 5 echo packets of 200 bytes each to a remote N_Port with loop_id 1 *)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check further HBA info by referring to 'loss of signal and Bad Tx Char' and transmission counts via:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;fcmsutil /dev/td0 state&lt;BR /&gt;fcmsutil /dev/td1 state&lt;BR /&gt;fcmsutil /dev/td? state, etc.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Report back with any problems.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
