Mux Panels

I had to restore from their recovery tape. It went ok, but now all their mux panels are not being recognized. I am getting good lights on the mux panels, the mux cards show up in ioscan, but their device files are cannot be opened!

Any ideas on what I can try next? The system worked a couple of hours ago so it doesn't seems unlikely that it is a hardware problem.

Since you didn't bother to identify the MUX model in your post, it's difficult to help. Does ioscan show the devices as "CLAIMED"? If not, then you are missing drivers in the kernel. Are the device files present? If not, you need to run insf. Are the permissions and ownerships correct for the device files?
Check /etc/inittab and you may need to do an init q.

I echo Clay's statement, also you haven't mentioned what kind of recovery tape was used.

A first thing to check is that the device files are actually special files, and that they have the correct minor number. ie does the minor number match up to the hardware path?
