    <description>/etc/update is part of the Core/Install CDROM set.  It must match the revision that you are loading, that is, if you upgrade from 8.07 to 9.03, you must first load the update tools from the Install CDROM which will include a 9.03 version of update.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;However, you will be far better off if you install 10.20 from the CDROM.  Upgrading from 9.xx requires extensive work to modify your programs, scripts, even documentation to match the new filesystem layout.  (And a lot of documentation).       <description>is /etc/update in the core os cd or in the apps cd? i figure if it is in the core os cd then i will just do a reinstall. though i've never done one before...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thansk much guys.</description>
