A software package has been installed using ".INSTALL w/swinstall". The software is installed properly, and functions correctly. However "swlist -l fileset -a state | grep -e corrupt" reports it as corrupt.

How can the state data be refreshed or updated to show that the software is properly installed?

If you don't want to re-install it and you're positive nothing is really corrupt, then you may be able to use the swmodify command

# swmodify -a state=configured PRODUCT.FILESET

....see the man page on swmodify

Hi Susan:

I wonder if you have installed what you think you do. By definition a 'corrupt' software state indicates that the 'swcopy' or 'swinstall' operation failed during the execution phase; and that the software is in an "unknown" state and should not be used.

I would reinstall the software and toggle 'reinstall=true'.

Regards!

...JRF...

When I get that, I swremove the software and then swinstall again.

If it comes up corrupt again, I pitch the software and try and solve the problem some other way.

SEP
