download timeserv from

ftp 207.46.133.140

goto reskit/y2kfix/x86/timeserv directory

download the files.

Copy the files as per instructions in the .htm page into the winxp directories.

Then edit the .ini file and enter the hp server name in the NTPserver field.

Then startup the service using

C:>TIMESERV -AUTOMATIC

reboot the client (winxp) workstation.

make sure that your WinXP can do a hostname resolution of the hp box.

revert on any additional help

On win2000 you need to download and run a network time sync program, I use Nettime by Graham Mainwaring. With Windows XP, just double click on the time in the bottom right-hand corner, and the "Date and Time" popup window has an "Internet Time" tag, click that and type in the name of your server and then click "Update Now" - if that does not work then check your network switches to see if they are blocking NTP protocol.

Ask the same question over in the Linux forum and they will help you lickety-split.
