If you have an entry in /etc/hosts.equiv like this on server sap1 it will alow 'r' commands without a password for all users including 'rlogin'

uxadmin

Do you have an entry in /etc/inetd.conf, where 'login' has been commented out? If you make changes to this file, you must run 'inetd -c' to update the daemon.

If it still does not work ...
Do you have a trusted system ?
DO you have a /etc/securetty file?

Regards
Michael
"When I have trouble spelling, it's called fat finger syndrome"

Hi Ashan,
First u do an rlogin or telnet from uxadmin to sap1 by providing password. On sap1 u execute #who -u and find whether the connection shows sap1 or sap1.your.domain in last column.
You need to provide the hostname on .rhosts file of sap1 as what u are seeing in the last column of who -u.
-HTH
