It is based on OpenSSH (www.openssh.org) and
not the comercial SSH (www.ssh.com) so the license that comes from OpenBSD permits free
usage.Hp just does a port for HP-UX (and gives support for those with support agreement).

You should take time to read the terms of the Open BSD licence (www.openbsd.com). Its actually a lot looser then the GPL Copyleft agreement, but there are still a few things that you should be aware of.

OpenSSH is open-source not freeware, whilst it is freely distributable, and can be used by anyone, there are some restrictions.
