Hi Alex,

thank you for these hints. I attached the /etc/rc.config.d/pd file. The values you mentioned are included as far as I can see.

Yes it is still 11.11.
What do you mean with "core file". May be this is a misterious question, but I am a beginner and not familiar with all stuff.

Thank you (and perhaps some others) for further help.

Oliver

P.S.: We are doing this whole print management with HPDPS. However this is not really needed because we only want to connect one or two single remote printers. Is this JetDirect tool avaiable anymore? I think this woul hold all our requirements.

Hi again,

another question concerning our printers:

I try to install a remote printer in the HPDPS area (in SAM). First I want to add a supervisor but unfortunately SAM told me that this failed and I shoul look to the SAM log. Ther I found:
* Executing the following command:
pdstartsuv -F super060
* Command completed with exit status 2
Failed at adding supervisor.

This semms not to be very helpfull to me. Has anybody an idea for this problem or how to proceed.

Thanks again and best regards,

Oliver

way off my area but could you post the contents of /etc/rc.config.d/pd ... I'm wondering if the PD_CLIENT,SPOOLERS and SUPERVISORS entries are missing/incorrect ?

Also O/S 11.11 still ? and is a core file produced anywhere on the file systems ?

PD_SUPERVISORS="" appears to be blank ??? Perhaps adding the supervissors by hand as opposed to via sam might help ....

as to my reference to a core file .... run the following :

find / -name core, if you have any files named core on your system then run

file core on them and report back the output and the full path to where the core file resided

as to jetadmin : see http://www.hp.com/cposupport/networking/support_doc/bpj06765.html#P1_54

I'm out of my depth wrt HPDPS configuration problems so if anyone else has this setup feel free to jump in with some ideas ....
