      <description>I have problems when backing up using fbackup on HP QUANTUM 8000 tape drive. I'm on a HP-UX 11.00 platform and the errors are as follows:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;fbackup(3013): WRITE ERROR while writing data record, at media record nnn&lt;BR /&gt;fbackup(3102): attenpting to make this volume salvagable&lt;BR /&gt;fbackup(3103): rewrite this volume from the beginning?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Are there and patches i can install that will solve this?&lt;BR /&gt;Goke&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi Goke,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I would suggest installing the latest cumulative tape patches and also any fbackup patches, you'll find a list of these on the ITRC related to your specific drive product number.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You could also try and tar some files onto the tape to see if you get any errors, if not the problem is more than likely an fbackup problem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Gary</description>

      <description>I suspect this is a known issue JAGae03668... have you checked the syslog for evidence ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My advise would be to get the latest firmware installed on the drive .... &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;there's a slim chance this could be H/W ... dmesg ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PHKL_29049 11.00 SCSI IO Subsystem Cumulative Patch&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PHKL_28216 11.00 SCSI Tape (stape) cumulative&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;are also worth considering.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
