topic SAMBA nmbd process hogging CPU in Operating System - HP-UX

nmbd process is completely hogging one entire CPU. We have an N-Class system w/ 4 CPUS and glance indicates nmbd process is taking 100 of 400% max. I've stopped and started SAMBA, but continue to have the same result.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

..Joe

This problem was fixed in the latest samba(CIFS/9000) release. It also fixes some pretty nasty security issues.

Here it is.

It comes with an install procedure that does not change your conf files.

http://www.software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProductInfo.pl?productNumber=B8725AA

SEP
