Fans are normally bought by the thousands or 10's of thousands in a lot.

Each lot from a manufacturer has its own part number or rev number. That is how they are tracked.

HP buys from several manufacturers depending on who has the best price for the specs at the time.

Most likely not much difference at all, probably a different maker is all.

Hello
I am replacing a bad fan on an L calls
the part # lable is A5191-04000 Rev. B
But the last 0 is over written with a marker to a 2. So it is
A5191-04002 Rev B
What does the Rev B mean? I found another fan but it is Rev F. Would anyone happened to know what the difference is?

Thanks
Richard

Not anything you would care about Richard.

If they change the color of the plastic its probably going to get a new Rev

Your L2000 might only be certified with certain Rev on certain parts. I always ask Hardware when they put in new parts about any discrepencies. I once did catch them trying to put an L3000 GSP in my L2000. They changed their mind after I started to open an itrc software case to ask if it was okay.

SEP
