Nikee,

You can certainly do that. While it is convenient to apply the Support Plus at the install time, it is ok to install the OS without applying patches.

Hai

You should be able to do that, just install, then apply the patches. You could create a depot, have it available and do an install with networking turned on, if you want.

It shouldn't be a problem at all... (I've done it before.)

Hope it helps

John

Nikee,

Sure, that's fine. Just proceed with the installation as normal and when you're done, swinstall your downloaded bundles.

Pete

Hi Nikee:

Yes, you can perform a Core installation without a SupportPlus CD. The SupportPlus bundles are applied after the Core install. The nature of the depot in which these patches reside (CD/DVD, tape, etc.) doesn't matter.

Regards!

...JRF...

You can do the install, just be sure you don't check off any of the extra applications during the initial OS install. You can do that later from your downloads.

Jim
Yes, we used to do our systems like this (basic install then patch to the max).

Seeing as it is a new install, you may want to configure the patch_save_files option to false when you install the patches, then take an Ignite as a Golden Image (it saves having to make your /var file system huge).

Share and Enjoy!
Hi,
I suppose thath you have an installed server with 11.0 OS:

put the bundle in the /tmp directory of server with ftp.

Check the bundle with:

swlist -d @ /tmp/<BUNDLE>.depot

and after install it:

swinstall -s /tmp/<BUNDLE>.depot \ -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true

This reboot your system.

Enrico.
</BUNDLE></BUNDLE>

1. Yes, you may take a look at the following links to installation the core hpux:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/5187-1843/5187-1843.html
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B3782-90785/B3782-90785.html

2. Apply the patches after the OS installtion, refer to the patch management document:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/5187-1816/5187-1816.html

Good luck.
twang
