      <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This is probably in the wrong area !!!!  But,  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am trying to generate PCL code to be send to a printer.  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Currently I have a setup where the PLC code is sending a number of control characters as below&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;^[&amp;amp;l67F^[&amp;amp;a3L&lt;BR /&gt;This sets text length to 67 lines and the left margin to 3.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When you cat the file is shows as&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;l67Fa3L&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So I need to add a sequence in the file to set the top margin to 0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So if I more the file is should look like.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;^[&amp;amp;l67F^[&amp;amp;a3L^[&amp;amp;l0E&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and when catting show as&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;l67Fa3Ll0E&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;However, in vi, I am unable to generate the required control sequence to make the ^[&amp;amp;, as I cannot do this in vi !!!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Steve, &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks for the update this has worked.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My problem was I was using an emulator to access unix and the CTRL V does the same job as in windows (Scum) , a paste.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So Iaccessed the server from a dos prompt telnet  and can use the sequence in vi this way.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;many thanks&lt;BR /&gt;Paul</description>
