if you are only accessing the server via 70096 terminals i cant really see the point of putting CDE on at this point.

But if you intend to use pc's to access the server using emulation software then yes install CDE.

The CDE option gives you the Common Desktop Enviroment, which basically is a windows type graphical interface.

The 64-bit HP-UX Minimal installion just give you command line access.

Obviously the CDE option takes up more disk space.

Ta

George

Since the 70096 is an ASCII terminal if i remember rightly just pick the minimal install.

You can allways install cde at a later date if you find you need it.

Cheers

George

Nikee,

Since you are going to use SAP, I think that you should go for the CDE installation. Even if you go for a minimal installation, you could install CDE at a later stage also.

HTH<
Piyush

One point of clarification. The CDE libraries and binaries are all 32 bit. This is true even for 64 bit PA and IPF platforms. In addition, the current IPF delivery is for 32 bit PA binaries that run under Aries emulation.
