You can simply copy these patches into a single depot. If you are not comfortable with the swcopy/swreg commands, you can use SAM to "Copy Software to a Depot". You then can run swinstall interactively using the newly created depot as the source, mark all 4 patches, and install in one shot.

It's normally not a good idea to install patches which require a reboot and run the machine without a reboot for any period of time. As an example of the problem, consider that /stanv/vmunix (and its symbol table) no longer matches /dev/kmem. Commands which then access kernel memory will yield bogus results.
Hello, I need to install the following patches on HP 11.00 box:
/tmp/patch/depot:
PHNE_21767
PHNE_22566
PHNE_28143
PHNE_28636

/tmp/patch/tmp:
PHCO_29106.depot
UNOF_29043.depot
QPK1100_11.00.depot

How I can do it with one reboot? Will the instalation be clean if I do not specify -x autoreboot=true option?
Thank you.

Olga,

Use swcopy to place all the patches in one depot, then swinstall from that depot.

First unshar the patches in /tmp/patch/depot:

cd /tmp/patch/depot
for i in PH*
sh $i
done

Then swcopy the resulting .depot files into your depot:

for in in PH*.depot
do
swcopy -s ${PWD}/$i \* @ /var/spool/sw
done

Use the same technige to copy the .depot files from /tmp/patch/tmp then use swinstall to install them all at once (I normally do this interactively so I can monitor).

Pete
