    <description>yes it is&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;probably the easiest is to interrupt the autoboot.  when the screen reads:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;to discontinue, press any key within 10 seconds&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;press key to get to the main menu.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;then boot the primary boot device&lt;BR /&gt;bo pri&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;when the screen prints&lt;BR /&gt;interact with IPL (y/n/q)?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;type y&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;at the ISL&amp;gt;   prompt type hpux -is</description>

      <description>I have a C100 machine we aquired from another location. I want to boot it in single user mode. Is it possible to boot in single user mode when first powering on the machine.</description>

      <description>Ron,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sure - interrupt the boot at the "10 second" prompt.  At the isl prompt enter "hpux -is".  This will bring you up in true single user mode.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Pete&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Interupt at the 10 second prompt like it says at boot.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;bo hpux&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Interact with the ISL prompt Y&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hpux -is&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It is possible though that single user mode was password protected.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What you should really do is:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Interupt at the 10 second prompt.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sea&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Stick a core OS CD in th CD-ROM.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;bo p#&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;replace the # with the correct number.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Whatever data was on the machine isn't particularly useful unless of course it was within your own company.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>
