hi friends
i installed samba server on hpux11.
now i can access swat,but i can't access from windows network.here i give my smb.conf file.
kindly guide me.

What is the domain name of the windows network?

workgroup = delphi_e

If its not delphi_e that could be it right there.

Its a good idea for samba to have the Primary Domain Controller(PDC) have an account for the HP-UX machine. That helps it be found in network neighborhood.

This however is a start toward problem diagnosis.

Hi Muthu,

make sure you have the access to the port (901 used by swat) in the firewall if your windows network is behind the firewall.

I would set the following:

security = SERVER
password server =
keepalive = 0
local master = No

Also, simple things to check - is samba running?

Look at status in swat and or ps -ef|grep mbd

Should see smbd and nmbd
