I have two NIC's on a hpux box,
a.b.x.3
a.b.y.5

a.b.x.1 is the the gateway for default, now if I want ping a destination, and have ping command go through the NIC of a.b.y.5. Can I do that? and how?

Thanks,

I assume a.b.x.3 and a.b.y.5 are on different subnets? Any connection to subnet "y" will then use NIC a.b.y.5 automatically, after first asking any adjacent router on subnet "x" if it knows where the "y" address is.

However, if the "x" and "y" subnets are linked, then you're a little sunk.
