topic IID Process consuming CPU cycles in Operating System - HP-UX

Our client has an HP-UX system running a process named 'iid' that consumes CPU cycles and forces our processes into wait status. Can anyone tell me if this is an HP-UX process and what purpose it serves? Many thanks!
To see if its an HP-UX process on the server in question do;

swlist -l file | grep -i iid

If you get some output back which has that exact name, it will tell you what fileset/product it belongs to. If not, its some 3rd party application/process.

Ive tried the above command on a few of my HP servers, nothing listed, so looks like some 3rd party process to me.

Hi Carol,

IID is a series of HP LaserJets.

The LaserJet IID laser printer does not support status checking. Therefore, it must be configured to use a termtype that does not do any status checking, such as termtype 18. Printers that do not do status checking are not supported as spooled devices.
