      <description>Hi I am using sybase 12.5.0.3 on HP-UX 11i with RP 2470 2 processor box.&lt;BR /&gt;Everything seems to fine but async i/o option is giving me the problem..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The error message when i start sybase is as follows&lt;BR /&gt;"ioctl(ASYNC_CONFIG) failed: Resource temporarily unavailable"&lt;BR /&gt;and its going to statndard unix i/o..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I tried giving setprivgrp RTPRIO MLOCK CHOWN&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;still the same error..&lt;BR /&gt;I have 1 GB memory and shared memory i set as&lt;BR /&gt;"960495616" &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in Advance&lt;BR /&gt;Is&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi Steve&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks again for the reply.&lt;BR /&gt;I solved the problem..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It turned out to be memory allocation problem..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I allocated more data cache in sybase, as sybase only can access 75% of the physical memory, the data cache was exceeding the 75%. So i reduced the data cache in sybase.&lt;BR /&gt;Now async i/o is working fine..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks &amp;amp; Regards&lt;BR /&gt;Is</description>
