frecover ask

I have two systems A (fbackup) and B (DDS)
The system A don??t have DDS, We do remote fbackup. Now I??m needing recover a filesystem in the system A

In system A
I do
frecover -xvf B:/dev/rmt/0hc -i /dbase

Is Ok this?

Hi

To Restore data from a remote drive

/etc/frecover -xi/directory -f remote_name:/dev/rmt/0m

To do a remote restore with a local drive

remsh remote_name " /etc/frecover -xi/directory -f local_name:/dev/rmt/0m"

Hey Castro,

the command itself is fine, but you need to make sure that server B allows server A access to do this.

Easiest way is to add the line

A

to /.rhosts, however that poses a security risk as it opens server B to remote shells and execution (remsh, rexec) as well as rlogins from server A. If thats not a problem its the easiest way.

To test it login to server A, run rexec to execute 'date' or create a dummy file in /tmp on server B.

just looked at it again, the options I used to use for frecover were

-oX -x

found it worked better than just -xvf, but if yours works then cool!

It's ok if you want to overwrite the files and directories stored in system A, with the -i option you indicate to restore just the /dbase file or directory.
