Add dotmatrix printer

Hi,
I want to add a epson printer connected with a dlink dp300 print server in the network.
How can I add this network printer in my hp-ux server using sam or without sam.
Can jetadmin help ?

I guess jetadmin is the right tool here. Jetadmin should be able to access print servers other than HP's.

We are using it with HP print servers as well as Axis print servers.

Jetadmin is pretty self-explanary.

I highly recommend the Axis print servers for connecting an impact printer to HP servers. They come with all the software that is required.

The problem in using JetAdmin to connect a non-HP printer is HP is usually less than helpful in assisting in connecting a non-HP printer if problems arise.

The printer is connected to a DLink make DP-300 print server. Dlink doesnt have a printer config package like jetadmin. As per the Dlink's documentation i have to edit the /etc/printcap file and put info like spool dir and server name etc.,
Where is the printers.conf / printcap file in HP-UX or the equivalent. I believe printcap file is obsolete.
How will I configure without using a package like jetadmin.
where is -s option in lpadmin in Hp-Ux

Finally i managed to configure the printer as a remote network printer.
Some info from Dlink's website helped me.

Velmurugan,
I am new to HP-UX but have admin experience with SunSolaris
I am doing something to this, only difference is I have an AXIS print server & a Epson LQ printer
I would like to know exactly what lpadmin (Solaris can only use this, so very familar with lpadmin) you use & where is the printes.conf file stored in HP-UX
