I have DCE 1.7 installed in my HP-UX 11.00 machine. I need to install TXSeries on the same, this requires DCE 1.7.1. Is there any patch or so to upgrade DCE 1.7 to DCE 1.7.1

Pls give info reg.. where i can get more details regarding DCE HP-UX.

Hi,

login to ITRC, get into maintenance and support-->patches-->indivudual patches.

mention the required patch,which takes you further and can download using ftp/hmtl

Kindly clarify:
When i download the individual patches iam getting only .txt files and not .depot files.

Is it possible to install patch using .txt files.

Kindly help me out.

Jagadesh,
I assume you know the place to download patches.
When you click "download selected" select the type of format you want (mainly tar and gzip). When you gunzip them you will get the depot files.
If you go for individual patches then you will get a bundled script.
sh
This will extract patch.text and patch.depot in your machine. Make sure that compress is in the path. It needs compress/uncompress for the depot file.
I got the files in correct format.

The following is an individual patch installation instructions:
-----------------------------------------------1. Back up your system before installing a patch.

2. Login as root.

3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory.

4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch:

# cd /tmp
# sh PHXX_xxxxxx (to create patch depot)

5. Run swinstall to install the patch:

# swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true -s /tmp/PHXX_xxxxx.depot
