I/O Error

Hi,
We are trying to connect HP mag tape drive 7978 to an HP 9000/827S server
running HPUX 10.00; ioscan detects the tape; but when we try to make a
backup we get I/O Error message. The tape is connected via a separate
HP-IB interface. I appreciate any help.

I suppose we need a little more information, in order to understand:
Whats the output of ioscan, whats the error message

Check is SAM->Kernel Configuration->Drivers.
Make hpib0 and hpib1 to be in. This will require system reboot.

Check in SAM->Kernel Configuration->Drivers.
Configure hpib0 and hpib1 to be in. This will require system reboot. You can also run "insf" in /dev once the system comes up.
