      <description>Hi Guys, &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;    I have the following message to start CDE:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-------------------------------------------&lt;BR /&gt;X server: Error in /etc/X11/X0screens (line 612)&lt;BR /&gt;          Device name invalid or missing after keyword "Screen".&lt;BR /&gt;X server: Will try default "/dev/crt"&lt;BR /&gt;Failure to open default device file `/dev/crt`.&lt;BR /&gt;Please either specify the proper device filename in&lt;BR /&gt;your /etc/X11/X0screens file or fix `/dev/crt`.  This filename is either&lt;BR /&gt;non-existent or is not a character special file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Fatal server error:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;giving up.&lt;BR /&gt;xinit:  Connection refused (errno 239):  unable to connect to X server&lt;BR /&gt;xinit:  No such process (errno 3):  Server error.&lt;BR /&gt;-------------------------------------------&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;How procceed to solve this problem ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Very thanks</description>

      <description>Check:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/rc.config.d/xfs&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;make sure the first variable is set to 1.  No font server, no login.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The other files in your errors and make sure they have not been modified.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also make sure the DISPLAY variable is set,.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>As per error it seems to suggest the graphics devie file does not exist and hence X and therefore CDE is unable to start.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I presume this must be on a graphics workstation or server with a graphics card installed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Advise is to :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;cd /dev/&lt;BR /&gt;rmsf *crt*&lt;BR /&gt;insf -evd framebuf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;this should create the correct graphics device files.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If the above fails could you report on the following : &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;graphinfo output, H/W involved, ll /dev/*crt* , and the contents (uncommented only) in your  /etc/X11/X0screens. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ps when did the problem start occuring, has this ever worked or has something changed ?</description>

      <description>I perform the operation ( insf -evd framebuf ) and no show message, but the device file ( crt ) was not create !! This machine was instaled and CDE dont work, never.</description>
