    <description>If I am understanding your question correctly&lt;BR /&gt;you want to change the permissions from a windows box and these permission are not taking effect.  &lt;BR /&gt;If you go to your smb.conf file I believe you can list in the global configuration&lt;BR /&gt;create mask = 0775  (for example)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I hope this helps</description>

      <description>We are running SAMBA2.2.7a in Domain Mode, running winbind. I was wondering if anyone out there has accomplished the following task. So far I am only partly successful.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I want to run Samba on an HP-UX or Linux system, and control the file share permissions through Server Manager on the NT side. So far, I can log into Server Manager, connect to the Samba server, see the shares and change permissions. The problem is, they don't take effect. I give myself read only access through the NT server Manager. I map the drive, and I can create, delete etc. Has anyone been successful doing this???</description>
