topic gcc complier problems in Operating System - HP-UX

gcc complier problems

Hello

I am trying to run gcc on an HPUX 11.11 system but each time it attempts to compile anything I get "gcc is out of processes" message. If it is simply a matter of re-installing gcc, where may I find a tar file ?

Hi,

a good source is http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Gnu/gcc-3.2.3/

There you will find a depot for the gcc and a lot of other hp-stuff.

The gcc there is running fine on my system.

You can try installing a different port, but I don't think that'll solve it.

I bet it's the max number of processes per user limit for your system.

BTW you can get a recent gcc port for 11.11 on https://www.beepz.com/personal/merijn/ or http://www.cmve.net/~merijn/

Try to install gcc 3.3.1 or later, otherwise
you may have some problems with HP linker.
