mkdir: cannot create Too many links

When creating a subdirectory under a directory I get the error message above. Any clues on how to fix this? Is there a kernel parameter for this? The os is 11.00.

Nope VOM Unix SysAdms doesn't work with me.

What's the probability of the same question coming up within minutes?

VOM's is 11.0 apparently.

The vx_max limit is set at 65534. There are currently 50025 subdirectories under the directory in question. However I do not have none of the patches on the server that are discussed here. Just starting having this problem yesterday when customer attempts to create a subdirectory.

Do I need to install a patch even if the kernel parameter is set at 65534?
