I am having difficulty finding out what patch to load to upgrade swinstall on UX11.0. The version I have does not support "-x run_as_superuser", but I cannot find what patches to download.
Could someone please tell me either how to find out, or else what patch number should I download?
Many thanks.

Hi,
PHCO_27672 is the latest cumulative SD patch. I don't know if it will add that functionality though.

Regards,
Tom Geudens

Hi Mike

Just a thought, it may not be a patch issue. Why do you say you're version doesn't support this option? Can you post the error message & the package you're trying to install.

I think this option (-x run_as_superuser=false) only works with packages specifically designed for this purpose. Normally the swinstall command must be run as root. Apologies if you're aware of this.

Cheers
Con

No Con O'Kelly,

When you do a man on the older version swinstall (SD) say this
$Revision: 5.1, SD-OV/A.02.11.00.02, SD-UX/B.11.11.00.02
Then you'll see it doesn't show this option. But if you do a man on the newer version you will find this option.

Cheers
Rajeev

Hi Rajeev,

The man on the newer version shows this option but the man on the older version doesn't.
So I want to upgrade it, so that the setup script works correctly.
I'll try the latest patch first.
Thanks.
Mike

This might help:
http://software.hp.com/SD_AT_HP/patches.html

The patch listed is a bit dated but if you plug the Patch ID into ITRC Patch site, you'll get the latest patch as given by Tom.

Rajeev
Thanks, hadn't realised the ""-x run_as_superuser" option was a newer option and not supplied by default with 11.00.

Cheers
Con
