HP used to make Atomic Clocks, but that was part of the Test and Measurment Group which has become Agilent.
You would need to check if they still do such a product, but I would also guess you would need a large cheque book.
There are a lot of newer resources available for such time synchronisation, including Radio clocks, GPS signals etc, which may be a lot easier and cheaper to use.
Hi,

NTP is not working great at our site. The time is synchronised over multiple DMZ to the internet and therefor errors now and than.

Therefor I was hoping to buy an Atomic clock. Unfortunetly I can nowhere find any info anymore about atomic clocks (for a reasonable price). I know they excist as I helped implementing one about 4 years ago, but can't find out where we bought it anymore (new company).

Does anyone have any info about prices, where to buy, links ?

I am looking for a clock to directly attach to my HP9000 server and let NTP synchronize to that clock only.
Any help will be much apreciated !!!

Regs David

Hi David,

We use a GPS ntp server, prices are better.

http://www.ntp-systems.com/products.asp

Hope it helps,
Robert-Jan.

Hi,
Are you searching for a "real" atomic clock (I belive HP is one vendor). As I understand they are very expensive. An alternative is a radio or GPS clock.

Hi,

A GPS indeed might be better, thinking of it now we used this indeed before.

Robert-Jan, Which one do you use. Do you have indicating prices? I can't find them on the web (else I will call, don't spend to much time on it). I was thinking of the NTS-150 (cheapest:). Do you need an extra Antenne for it?

Can you please let me know as much as you know of the benefits or problems you encountered ?

Your help will be much apreciated (and rewarded :)

Regs David

Hi David,

We use a truetime nts-90, and yes we use an extra antenne on the roof of the building. I can't remember the price we payed, best to call local supplier.

Regards,

Robert-Jan.
