configuring modem & UPS on HP Server.

Experts,
I am having New RP5405 server Installed with HP-UX11i,I wanted to confgure Modem on it to do remote dialing &also i wanted to connect this server to UPS,Please give me the procedure to configure this devices.
I am new to HP-UX .

Hi Subhash,

I do not know how you attache a modem to the UPS but perhaps i can help you to attach it to the server.

1. Attach the Serial port of UPS with the serial port of server. There is a Octopus cable at the server. One is tagged as UPS port.

After you have done this read this document how you must configure you UPS with the system.

Sorry I wanted to attach modem to server & not to UPS,

I have one time tried to attach a modem to a L-Class server but it does not work correctly. Everything has failed. But then I have ordered a support modem from HP and everything was fine. If you have the same problem do it the same way. It is very cheap.
