Hi everyone,

I ran a make_recovery on an HP 9000 11.00 and tried to run that tape on an other HP 9000 11.00 but as it was extracting an ERROR occured: not able to change group and user ID. and the make_recover fails.

the only thing I could do after that is reboot..

the Ignite version I'm using is B.2.2.157

Thanks in advance

First off, you probably want to upgrade to the latest version of Ignite. I know they are up to 2.5.XX and may be up to 2.6 by now.

Secondly, I am surprised that it failed and didn't give you an option to continue.

I think my first recommendation would be to download the latest version and install it. Then re-run your make_recovery and then try booting from the tape again.

Hi,

Your version of Ignite is definitely obsolete.
Version B.2.6 is the current one since august 2000
There is even an upcoming version 3.1 (TBA)

I suggest you reinstall the latest version,
recreate your tape and boot. This should work.

Regards,

Dan

Dimitri,

You stated "I ran a make_recovery on an HP 9000 11.00 and tried to run that tape on an other HP 9000 11.00.."

Were these machines like machines? Same class, same type of hardware in both. In order for you to succeed here, the machines need to be similar.
