Our proxy server behind Firewall needs SOCKS 5 ftp connection to connect to Internet ftp sites. For this, how do I make it to work ? the standard HPUX 11.0 ftp does not work.

Victor, you'll have to "socksify" ftp. This is done either compiling a client with SOCKS support, or by running a wrapper around ftp.

You can check Dante Socks Server:

http://www.inet.no/dante

It has also a socks client and library that will allow you to use your default ftp client.
