FDDI CARD

I have an N4000. I installed a FDDI card (PCI) of course and I think I have a problem. I am using the fddi4 driver. Here is my output. lanscan does not show the card.

However ioscan looks OK, the driver and device are 'claimed'. Not sure whats up.

Do I need to configure the card for it to show up under lanscan?

This is the same FDDI card we use in all our N's running 11.0. In fact, it came out of one of our existing Nclass systems running 11.0 and it was working fine using fddi4 driver.

What is the product number for the FDDI card?

Got another problem here with :

lan 1 0/8/0/0 btlan UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN PCI Ethernet (10110019)

FDDI card product number = PCI FDDI Adapter HP A3739A

But it does not show it as this on the troubled system.

still checking the other lan card prod number.

Could I need a patch or something. I noticed my other systems have the following fileset loaded and the troubled system does not.

For an N4000 (* rp7400 *) this is not a supported device. This device will only work in a rp54## (* L#000 *) or rp24## (* A#00 *).

Then how can I have this same card working in another N4000? Is this N4000 a different chassis or something? Are there different N4000 class servers?

Could this be the problem?

N4000 working with FDDI card:

[ihshp8:/]# model
9000/800/N4000-36

N4000 not working with FDDI card:

[ltchp14:/]# model
9000/800/N4000-55

One is a 36 and the other is a 55. Is this what you mean?

The foll. doc claims that the FDDI version A card, HP Part Number A3739A, has been obsoleted and replaced with version B, HP Part Number A3739B.
