LPMC errors are normal as long as it's not recurring. If you are getting this error again and again you have a bad CPU and need to replace it.

Thanks
Hi

Instruction cache failures cause LPMC (low-priority machine check).
Data cache failures cause HPMC (high-priority machine check = crash).
Suggest you please call HP for CPU replacement.

Paula
Hi Leon,

It's telling you a CPU detected and corrected cache memory error. As stated if it's a one time error - no problem. If it keeps occurring it's a signal the CPU is going bad & needs to be replaced.

HTH,
Jeff

LPMC (low priority machine check) errors are normal events which can be recovered by the OS. As the name states, there are errors of low priority ones which will not create any issues.

But, if this error occurs frequently, you need to replace your CPU.

LPMC -- Low Priority Machine Check. A small number of these is normal. The parity error was detected and corrected. This can literally be caused by cosmic rays or high levels of background radiation. If you see more than about one of these per week -- and you don't use your box in a high background radiation environment- then you should have your HP Mr. Goodwrench replace a processor.
