CDE Print Manager

Hi,

We have several engineers who use CDE FileManager and CDE PrintManager using the drag and drop to the printer for PostScript files.

We are running HP-UX11.00 on C3700 workstations, when submitting a file for print by drag and drop the size of the print is being stripped at A4, if we use the "Print Command Options" box when printing to specify -oA3 -olandscape the postscript file is printed in full.

Is there any way that the CDE print can autodetect the size of the file to be printed??

Hi Kevin,

If I understand well what you are asking I don't think that CDE can autodetect size of the file to be printed.
If you wish to change format of print you will have to edit the printer model script in:

/etc/lp/interface/model.orig/,

look for the parameter:
paper=

and set it to A4,A3 or what you want.

Hi

Your simple solution is to make a second printer on the same device.Assuming network.

Set it up as fixed A3 by changing the printer script as shown before and printing on that.

Or make a second printer where the script merely does and lp -dprinter -s options required
